BANKING ON IT U.S. Export-Import Bank crucial link to financing for many airline customers By Tim Neale When Kenya Airways took delivery of its first 787 in April, it was a high-profile event—a celebration marking the airline’s acquisition of the fuel-efficient Dreamliner for its growing international business. Less noticed were the months of preparation that preceded the delivery and the airplane’s entry into service, including the carrier’s search for financing. With the help of the Export-Import Bank of the United States, and the support of Boeing Capital Corp.
