N'Sync singer Lance Bass and his team of corporate sponsors have been given "one more chance" by Russian space officials to settle the financial score that interfered with the pop star's plans to fly to the International Space Station this October, according to Space.com. And even though the cash had yet to change hands, said the Associated Press, Bass began a full week of training at Johnson Space Center in Houston along with the two other crewmembers.

NASA agreed to teach Bass about the basics of space flight — and the particulars of the U.S. side of the space station — even though his trip is still uncertain. If he secures a final contract, 23-year-old Bass will become the third fare-paying tourist to venture into space aboard a Russian craft. He also will become the youngest person to ever travel in space. The pop singer's trip to the ISS is to be turned into a television special and two-hour launch special upon his return.

Boeing is the ISS' prime contractor.
