Boeing launched the 777X at the air show, with 259 orders and commitments from four airlines worth almost $100 billion at list prices. It was the largest single commercial launch by value in the history of the industry. Bloomberg News, Nov. 17 “A tremendous example of what a V-22 is able to do.” – A senior U.S. Marine Corps official, discussing how the Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey is helping provide emergency relief aid in the Philippines following Typhoon Haiyan. The V-22’s ability to land and take off like a helicopter but fly like a fixed-wing aircraft allows it to quickly serve remote, unprepared landing zones as well as established airports.
