08 | BOEING FRONTIERS SNAPSHOT Mad for MAX As employees cheer it on, Boeing’s new 737 MAX 8 lifts off Jan. 29 on its inaugural flight from Renton Field in Renton, Wash. The 737 MAX 8 is the first member of Boeing’s new family of single-aisle airplanes—the 737 MAX 7, MAX 8, MAX 200 and MAX 9—to begin flight testing. Boeing has over 3,000 orders from more than 60 customers for the MAX, which incorporates fuel-efficient engines, Boeing-designed Advanced Technology winglets and other improvements.
