Royal Jordanian, the national airline of Jordan, has come
a long way since it was established by royal decree in 1963
by the late King Hussein, a pilot who maintained a warm relationship
with Boeing. It has scored a succession of firsts for a Middle
East airline, including the first to order Boeing’s 787
Dreamliner, which will play an important role in the airline’s
strategy.
Boeing Commercial Airplanes has a number of manufacturing
partnerships with organizations such as Lighthouse for the
Blind, and the benefits go far beyond the more than two million
Boeing jetliner parts manufactured each year by people with
disabilities. It’s a win-win situation for all -- Boeing,
the community and workers who feel a sense of empowerment and
accomplishment because of the work they do.
