For one team of the Boeing Service Company, an IDS subsidiary that maintains and sustains customer communication and data systems, the "office" stretches from California to North Dakota. This team's job is to remove older air-conditioning units at hundreds of Minuteman missile sites and replace them with modern environmental-control systems.

Keep 'em flying

The Royal Air Force of the United Kingdom is using its C-17s at about 120 percent of the originally planned flight hours per year. That's a testament to the aircraft—and to the Boeing support team members on site who ensure the RAF can keep their C-17s in service.
