Overview
Advanced Global Services & Support is the advanced arm of the Global Services & Support business unit. Advanced Global Services & Support is responsible for driving the development, growth and transition of innovative, knowledge-based logistics capabilities for Global Services & Support. With a central focus on the emerging network-centric logistics marketplace, Advanced Global Services & Support is working on deploying integrated solutions for end-to-end (factory-to-foxhole) logistics. Its focus -- "readiness transformation."
Advanced Global Services & Support has three main thrusts:

Network-Centric Logistics (NCL)
As the customer moves to more integrated platforms, Advanced Global Services & Support has an eye on the technologies and architectures that improve current and future Global Services & Support and deliver NCL for greater warfighter readiness. NCL is comprised of several focus areas:- Command & Control (C2)
- Data Management and Mining
- Integration of Legacy Systems Solutions
- Maintenance Depots
- Mobile Platforms
- Prognostics
- Total Asset Visibility solutions

Emerging Support Business
Advanced Global Services & Support is responsible for transitioning new and innovative capabilities and business models from the Advanced Systems business into the Global Services & Support business. These capabilities are allowing for Boeing's expansion into non-traditional logistics and sustainment markets.

Business and Technology Transition
Within IDS' Advanced Systems business unit exists enabling technologies that affect all of the divisions within Global Services & Support. Advanced Global Services & Support transitions those technologies, processes and tools so they can be applied for the benefit of all areas of Global Services & Support as well as for our external customers. Several technology initiatives related to Lean+, for example, have been transitioned to Global Services & Support resulting in significant cost reductions. Additionally, the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Services business is working to provide ISR capabilities to the marketplace via a service-based model. While current service efforts have been based on the successful Insitu/Boeing ScanEagle program, ISR Services is working with several UAV platforms and stands ready to meet our customers' requirements by providing flexible, affordable, persistent ISR services anywhere in the world.
