Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS)

767 AWACS Benefits and Military Derivatives

Benefits

Like the E-3 AWACS, the 767 AWACS is a deterrent to aggression, as well as a force multiplier for air defense weapon systems. Because air superiority can be achieved and maintained so readily with the partnership of 767 AWACS and other aircraft such as the F-15, F-18 and F-22, both air and ground conflicts will be shorter in duration and intensity.

Also, because the 767 AWACS is interoperable with the E-3 AWACS fleet now in service, the program offers the U.S. and its allies a means to strengthen areas of regional instability through country-to-country cooperation, while at the same time reinforcing the surveillance capabilities of individual nations.
