Integrated Defense Systems

Chris Raymond is vice president of Business Development for Boeing Integrated Defense Systems (IDS). This $32.1 billion, 71,000-employee business unit is a provider of defense, space and intelligence solutions for U.S. and international customers.

Within IDS, Raymond is responsible for leading a team focused on customers' enduring needs. His organization helps develop and resource the market, capture and advocacy strategies to create and acquire new business.

Prior to his current position, Raymond was vice president of Business Development for IDS Air Force Systems, responsible for teams focused on Global Mobility; Global Strike; Command, Control, Communications, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance; and Integrated Space solutions. Raymond has also held positions in International and the company's Airlift and Tanker division.

Before joining Business Development, Raymond held a variety of leadership assignments at Boeing within Engineering, Supply Chain Management and Operations. He also held program-management responsibility for military, commercial, regulatory, financial and international business issues related to potential commercialization of the C-17 aircraft. He joined the company in 1986 as an engineer at its Long Beach, Calif., operations.

Raymond serves on the Advisory Board for Boeing's business alliance with Cisco Systems. He is a member of the Air Force Association, the Airlift Tanker Association, the Navy League, the Association of the U.S. Army and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

Raymond holds a bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering from the University of Illinois, a certificate with honors in contract management and a master's degree with honors in business administration, both from the University of California-Irvine.
