Maintenance Performance Toolbox

Turning Information into Action

Maintenance of operating aircraft involves many related and integrated processes and methods. Common elements of these processes include the management of maintenance task procedures, organization of maintenance and repair records reflecting actions performed on the aircraft, identification of applicable spare parts, etc.

Maintenance Performance Toolbox (Toolbox) is focused on the ability to manage technical documentation and records associated with aircraft maintenance and repair activities. These activities, whether they are for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, or correction of an aircraft discrepancy, all use procedures and related information either developed or accepted for use by the aircraft operator. Toolbox support of these activities is based on the ability to maintain a current and accurate set of procedures and related information. These procedures (i.e. Aircraft Maintenance Manual, , Structural Repair Manual), troubleshooting aids (i.e. Fault Reporting Manual/Fault Isolation Manual) and parts information (i.e. Aircraft Illustrated Parts Catalog), are all maintained within the Maintenance Performance Toolbox. This environment enables the automation of document revisions including aircraft operator review and acceptance.

In addition, aircraft operator and maintenance providers are provided with the ability to create and modify operator-unique procedures and documentation using the same review and acceptance capability. This ensures Toolbox users always know what information is available for maintenance and repair activities and which information is still being prepared.

When structural repairs are needed, the question may be asked: "Has this repair been performed before? If so, can I reuse that procedure on my airplane?" With the ability to search, review, and visualize (via 3D-graphics) previously performed repairs, the aircraft operator is able to identify reusable repair procedures, creating a new or revised version if needed and then manage the resulting repair activities and associated recordkeeping.

In the future, Maintenance Performance Toolbox (Toolbox) will be enhanced to provide additional benefits such as:

All Toolbox features are available via My Boeing Fleet, which provides the benefit of a common and easy-to-use interface to a variety of Boeing on-line products in a reliable and secure environment.
