Airborne Battle Management
- P-8A Poseidon: The Boeing P-8A is a derivative of the Next-Generation 737-800. It is a long-range anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft capable of broad-area, maritime and littoral operations. The P-8A combines a highly reliable airframe and high-bypass turbo fan jet engine with a fully connected, advanced mission system to ensure maximum interoperability in the battle space of the future.
- Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS ): The world's standard for airborne early warning systems, the E-3 707 AWACS fills the needs of both airborne surveillance, and command and control (C2), for tactical and air defense forces. It provides a highly mobile, survivable surveillance and C2 platform. E-3 fleets are operated by the United States, NATO, the United Kingdom, France and Saudi Arabia. Japan operates a fleet of 767 AWACS.
- 737 Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C): The 737 AEW&C is the next generation airborne surveillance and command and control system, which includes a multitude of advantages including a self-defense capability, an advance identification system and an expanded, passive surveillance system. 737 AEW&C is in production for Australia and Turkey.
Airlift and Tankers
- C-17 Globemaster III: The world's premier heavy airlift aircraft, the C-17 has proven itself as a versatile strategic and theater airlifter in every recent worldwide operation, from Operation Iraqi Freedom to humanitarian tsunami relief missions. More than 150 operational C-17s in the U.S. Air Force and Royal Air Force fleets have logged over one million flight hours since becoming operational in 1995. With a payload of 160,000 pounds, the C-17 can take off from a 7,600-foot airfield, fly 2,400 nautical miles, and land on a small, austere airfield in 3,000 feet or less.
- International Tanker Programs: The KC-767 International Tanker provides unrivaled tanker capability and operational flexibility. Technology advances include a fifth-generation boom, second-generation remote vision system, new wing air refueling pods and hose drum unit, and a digital cockpit. Boeing delivered the first two KC-767Js to Japan's Ministry of Defense in 2008. A third KC-767J was delivered in March 2009, with the last aircraft delivered to Boeing's in-country partner Itochu Corp. in December 2009. On Jan. 12, 2010 Itochu presented the aircraft to the Japan Ministry of Defense. Boeing continues flight test and certification activity for Italy's KC-767A program. The Italian Air Force has four aircraft on order.
- USAF Tanker: The Airlift and Tankers division is leading Boeing's effort to win the U.S. Air Force KC-X aerial refueling tanker competition. Developed in conjunction with Boeing Commercial Airplanes, the NewGen Tanker, based on the proven 767 airframe, meets all of the service's stated requirements. The NewGen tanker provides unmatched flexibility and versatility in a fuel-efficient, serviceable and affordable platform that is compatible with existing airfields and depots.
Global Strike System
- F-15E Strike Eagle: An advanced multi-role fighter able to perform its mission in all weather conditions, the F-15E employs precision and non-precision weapons at unrefueled ranges approaching 1,000 nautical miles, while retaining full air-to-air weapons capability. The F-15K is currently in production for the Republic of Korea Air Force, and the F-15SG has been ordered by Singapore.
- F/A-18E/F Super Hornet: The newest generation of strike fighter, the combat-proven Super Hornet performs a variety of missions including air superiority, day/night strike with precision-guided weapons, fighter escort, close-air support, suppression of enemy air defense, maritime, reconnaissance, forward air control and aerial refueling.
- Harpoon Block II: An anti-ship missile featuring autonomous, all-weather, over-the-horizon capability, Harpoon Block II provides accurate long-range strike capability for land and ship targets.
- Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM): The JDAM is a low-cost guidance kit consisting of a new tail section with INS/GPS that converts existing unguided free-fall bombs into near precision-guided weapons. The Boeing-funded laser-guided JDAM is being developed and JDAM Extended Range is being considered for development.
- Small Diameter Bomb (SDB): The SDB System quadruples the weapon load on every U.S. fighter and bomber aircraft with its four-place pneumatic carriage and compact 250-pound class SDB weapons. SDB enhances aircraft survivability by enabling launch at greater than 40 nautical miles from the target. The initial weapon of the SDB family is the GBU-39, which is a precision INS/GPS guided weapon with a multi-purpose penetrating and blast-fragmentation warhead.
The second weapon in the SDB System family is the SDB Increment II (SDB II) weapon which provides an all-weather moving target capability. It will have the ability to hit moving targets and is being developed in a competitive program managed by the U.S. Air Force and Navy beginning in May 06. - Standoff Land Attack Missile - Expanded Response (SLAM-ER): SLAM-ER is a day/night, adverse weather, over-the-horizon, precision strike missile. SLAM-ER is an effective, long-range, network enabled precision strike option for pre-planned and Target of Opportunity attack missions against moving and stationary land and ship targets.
- T-45 Training System: Future Navy and Marine Corps strike fighter pilots are training on the T-45 Training System, the first fully integrated jet pilot training system. The core of the system, the T-45A/C Goshawk trainer aircraft, is augmented by operational and instrument flight simulators, computer-assisted classroom instruction, a training integration system that tracks all training activities and a contractor support logistics program. The sum of this coordinated instruction makes the T-45 Training System the benchmark of 21st century jet aircraft training.
Rotorcraft
- Apache Longbow: The AH-64D Apache Longbow is a multi-role combat helicopter that features fully integrated avionics and weapons, plus state-of-the-art digital communications capabilities that enable real-time, secure transfer of battlefield information to air and ground forces.
- Chinook: The CH-47F/MH-47G Chinook is a heavy-lift helicopter for intra-theater troop and cargo movement. It provides key capabilities to special operations forces from combat to disaster relief and is in service with the armed forces of nearly 20 countries worldwide. Boeing has proposed the advanced HH-47 CSAR-X version as its entry in the U.S. Air Force Combat Search and Rescue aircraft program. Built on a new airframe, the HH-47 is equipped with advanced features similar to those used in U.S. Army Special Operations MH-47G rotorcraft.
- V-22 Osprey: A tiltrotor aircraft capable of taking off and landing like a helicopter, but once airborne its engine nacelles can be rotated to convert the aircraft to a turboprop airplane capable of high-speed, high-altitude flight. It is capable of transporting troops and cargo using its medium-lift and vertical-takeoff-and-landing capabilities.
Unmanned Airborne Systems
- A160T Hummingbird: The A160T Hummingbird Unmanned Aerial Vehicle is a long-range, long-endurance, unmanned advanced rotorcraft. It features a unique optimum speed rotor technology that enables the Hummingbird to adjust the RPM (Revolutions Per Minute) of the rotor blades at different altitudes and cruise speeds.
- ScanEagle: A low-cost, long-endurance, autonomous unmanned air system, ScanEagle is used by military customers around the world to loiter over trouble spots and provide ISR data or communications relay.
